Our story
In Indian weddings, the marigold is everywhere: strung across doorways as torans, woven into varmalas, scattered down the aisle. It is the flower of welcome and of new beginnings. We named our studio after it because that is what we plan: beginnings.
Once Upon a Marigold is a boutique wedding planning studio in Bengaluru, founded by certified wedding planner Sharmilla Shah. We plan premium weddings and intimate boutique weddings, South Indian, North Indian and Christian, across India, along with destination weddings in Sri Lanka.
Many of our couples are NRI families planning from abroad. For NRI weddings we become the family's team on the ground: scouting venues, managing vendors, welcoming guests and running every function, so that everyone arrives to a wedding that is ready and can be present for every ritual.
